Baby Flood

This weekend was my second and final shower in Fredericksburg. Our friends and family blessed us beyond belief with gifts for the baby. I really almost feel guilty because we got so much loot!

We got the crib & bedding:
We got the bassinet:

The car seat & stroller:
We got a million other wonderful things. We really don't need anything now! I can't believe it. I feel like a weight has been lifted. Mostly because we've done NOTHING to get ready up to this point. Now I just need to find a place for it all...well and for him!
Enough about the gifts. It was such a fun party. My friend, Kim, hosted it at her beautiful new home a few miles outside of town. An incredible view of the Hill Country could be seen from almost every room. It was the perfect backdrop to a perfect night. The food was incredible and the company was even better. Thank you, Cassell, Sarah, Rebekah, Destiny & Kim! It couldn't have been any better!

Here's Willa trying to take all of the attention away from me:)

Gifts Galore!

Babies

My mom and sister (and her kids) came to town so Blake and Ashley had a great weekend with Sam, Alice & Ruby. Derrek got in some quality bonding time with Ruby. She's a tough one but he seems to win her over so easily. It gets better with every trip. She's SLOWLY warming up to me but I'm not worried about it. We'll be besties soon enough. I still couldn't get enough of her with the camera.

Here they are making fun of me!
Blake and Sam playing chess...and no, they don't know how to play.
Walking to lunch...
Ashley & Alice at the shower (more pics later!)
Ruby & Uncle DD

Just too cute for me NOT to take all these pictures.

Mom and Traci helped us out so much this weekend. First of all, they installed our new dryer (leveling that thing was not easy!). Then they moved some furniture out of the kids room to make room for the crib that Derrek and I put together (very carefully considering neither one of us should lift or strain that much). They also cleaned and helped me sort through the baby loot. After 30 years of babying me, I guess they're used to it but they really did go above and beyond. I mean, I dont' even have pictures of their slaving about and mom took pics of derrek and me assembling the crib (she helped alot, by the way).

It's so crazy that the next time I see my sister, I'll be a mom!!! Hopefully, Mom will be back before that because I dont' know what to do with all this stuff!

The Kiddos are Coming!

I promise that I'm not going to make a big deal of it every time the kids come over for the weekend but I realized I didn't post these pictures from two Saturdays ago. After Blake's soccer game, we just hung out with friends and family and I got some good shots...so many of them are of Rance (our nephew) and not of our kids but he was just so dang entertaining that day!!!

A Look Back

I've wanted to get these pictures up for a long time (since we knew the tranplant was going to happen) and reading Cassell's blog today finally inspired me to get it done! Here's a look back at Chris and Derrek from the beginning.
