Is It Over Yet?

Hard to believe if you know me or Derrek very well but we're actually not completely finished moving yet. We started 2 weeks ago. We've battled bronchitis, bad weather, the kids' spring break, a four-month old, a borrowed trailer with a borrowed truck that we couldn't use longer than a weekend and a neverending house full of crap. The excuses will be over on Sunday and we'll bite the bullet but here are some pics of our first day of moving. Rosie was very concerned with all the packing. She's usally full of anxiety when we're packing for trips but this was on a new level. She'd follow us to and from the trailer. Back and forth. Until she finally figured out that she was going to make sure she ended up wherever our stuff ended up and she planted herself in the trailer. She stayed for over an hour and was almost completely covered up before we had to drag her out. We love our Rosie.

Ready? OK!

Yeah, they don't say that anymore. By "they" I mean cheerleaders. By "cheerleader", I mean ASHLEY!!! She made the squad! They only took three 6th graders and four 7th graders. We , actually weren't exactly sure if she wanted it or not because well, she said, "I'm not sure if I want to be a cheerleader or not." At one point she told me that it might be a relief to not make it. (Her mom is very into the cheerleading thing and she felt as if she was only doing it for her). However, when she saw her name on that list, it was like we were crazy to think that wasn't what she wanted all along! It was awesome though. She was soooooooo happy and excited. She and her mom did like a movie twirl thing in the middle of the street. Hilarious. I'm loving the other moms. All the girls on the squad all seem like really genuine girls. The year ahead should be fun. Go Billies!
Oh, but would anyone like to buy some cookie dough or a magazine subscription. Cheerleading uniforms ain't cheap!

4 Month Check-up (Again 2 weeks late!)

As every parent can testify, SO much changes from month to month when you have an infant! Cash continues to "talk" non-stop but, as you witnessed in the video, he likes to make all kinds of new sounds. Sometimes when he's getting mad, he'll remember he can blow bubbles with his slobber and it cheers him right up! He's officially grabbing toys and hands and earrings and faces and anything else he can reach and holding them himself. He's putting most of those things in mouth too. Just after his check-up he started rolling over! Now he rolls from his back to his tummy to go to sleep. The best part about that is that he sleeps much longer on his tummy! We still use the magic blanket and if its near and he's tired, he grabs it and puts it over his face and falls asleep. We love the magic blanket although some strangers may think I'm smothering him. He's still (and probably always will be) completely enamored with his brother and sister.
His mother has not worked hard enough to get him on a really good schedule (see my posts coming on moving & spring break) so he sleeps through the night but not on a regular basis. Hopefully, now that we are moved in (for the most part) I'll be able to figure something out. One more excuse I'd like to share is it complicates things when we have Blake & Ashley half the time. It's hard to keep the schedule the same! So we're working on it. Another negative effect of this no-schedule thing are that we aren't confident to leave him with a babysitter and be sure he'll take a bottle and/or sleep. I'm dedicating this next week to our schedule and using the bottle a little more with Daddy.

At his doctor's appointment on March 6, Cash weighed 15.7 lbs and was 25.5 inches long. The doctor said we could start him on cereal and Stage 1 fruits and vegetables! We just started the cereal last night because I received some good advice from Rebekah to not start it until I was ready to do it every day. Again, the move really threw things off.

He's healthy and happy and growing. What more could we ask for?

I know there are an insane amount of pictures but I couldn't choose!

Watching Ultimate Fighting with Daddy...

Why did you leave me alone with Sissy?
Napping outside the office at the bakery.
Yeah? So.
Irresistable.
I can lift my head getting my diaper changed.
Sleeping.

Riding.

and playing.
What about it? I'm big.

Slobber

Still no time to blog but I did have time to stick my funny video on youtube. Cash is cracking me up everyday. His Mammaw says he's "wirey". Never stops wiggling and squirming and trying new things with his mouth (blowing bubbles, yelling, biting, sucking, slobbering). Check him out here.

So Much. So Much.

I have so much to talk about but way behind at work because we're deep in the middle of the move. So if I'm not packing, I need to be working even though I'd rather be blogging. I'm also trying to squeeze in two hours somewhere where Cash & I can sneak off to see Confessions of a Shopaholic. Ashley's cheerleading try-outs, Cash's 4 month check-up, a video of his new trick & our move! All coming soon.
